Need to show your disability rating for a retail discount or property tax exemption? Stop looking for eBenefits. Here is how to find, view, and save your rating on the new VA.gov system.

Where did eBenefits go?

If you are looking for your rating on eBenefits, you are looking in the old filing cabinet. The VA has moved rating data to VA.gov.

  • eBenefits: Still used for some document uploads, but mostly retired for viewing ratings.
  • VA.gov: The new home for viewing your combined rating and individual disabilities.

The Process

The 3-Click Path to Your Rating

Log In to VA.gov

Use your Login.gov or ID.me account. (See our previous guide if you don't have one!).

2

Click "Disability"

This is usually in the main menu bar or a large icon on the dashboard called "Check your claim, decision review, or appeal status".

3

Select "View your VA disability ratings"

Don't click "Claims." Look specifically for the word Rating. This page will show your big "Combined Rating" percentage at the top.

Proof of Rating: Screenshot vs. Letter

Official Letter Screenshot

"Can I Use a Screenshot for a Mortgage?"

Probably NOT.

Screenshots are great for quick discounts (like Lowe's or Home Depot) or State Park passes. However, for serious financial business (VA Loans, Property Tax Exemptions), you need the Official Benefit Summary Letter.

How to get the Official Letter:

On the same VA.gov dashboard, instead of clicking "Disability", look for the box that says "Letters" or "Download your benefit letters". This generates a PDF signed by the VA Commissioner.
