14. Why Your "Service Connection" Was Denied (and How to Appeal)
Denied? Read the letter. If it says "Condition not Service Connected," it means they agree you are hurt, but don't think the military caused it. This is not a dead end.
You don't necessarily need a lawyer or a judge. You likely just need New and Relevant Evidence. A strong Nexus Letter from a private specialist counts as "New Evidence" and allows you to file a Supplemental Claim to overturn the denial quickly.
