3. VSO vs. Private Medical Evidence: What's the Difference?
There is a common misconception that you should "never pay for help" with a VA claim because VSOs (Veterans Service Organizations) are free. While VSOs do incredible work, it is important to understand their limitations.
The VSO Role
VSOs (like the DAV, VFW, or county reps) are excellent at administrative tasks. They have access to the VA's computer systems and can file forms for you. However, most VSOs are overworked, handling hundreds of cases at once. More importantly, they cannot create medical evidence.
The "Evidence Gap"
If you go to a VSO with a back injury but no current diagnosis or Nexus letter, the VSO will submit the claim "as is." They rely on the VA to schedule a C&P exam to generate that evidence. If you get a bad examiner on a bad day, your claim dies there.
The Private Advantage
Our service fills the gap that VSOs cannot. We are not just form-fillers; we are evidence-builders. We connect you with private, licensed providers who spend time with you via Telehealth. They write the DBQs and Nexus Letters that legally prove your disability. You are paying for medical expertise, not just paperwork.
