4. The Truth About Working with a 100% VA Rating (TDIU Myths)
One of the biggest myths in the veteran community is: "If I get 100%, I can't work anymore." This is false for the vast majority of veterans.
Scheduler 100% vs. TDIU
There are two ways to get paid at the 100% rate:
- Scheduler 100%: Your disabilities add up to 95% or higher using VA math. In this case, there are zero income limits. You can make $1 million a year, work full-time, and still collect your full VA check.
- TDIU (Unemployability): You are rated less than 100% (e.g., 70%) but filed for "Individual Unemployability" because your condition prevents you from working. In this specific case, you cannot earn above the poverty threshold.
Our Goal: Scheduler 100%
At Thank You For Your Service, our goal is to help you reach a true "Scheduler" rating (often by combining multiple conditions like PTSD, Sleep Apnea, and Back Pain). This gives you the ultimate financial freedom: a tax-free VA check for life, plus whatever salary you earn in the civilian world.
